In this tab you will see all of my research and the things I made in this project.

This project is all about photography. The first thing is my research.

There are 9 different genres in photography. The one I really like is: landscape photography. Because I really like being outside and seeing what the photographers take pictures of in real life. Bellow you will see some of the landscape pictures I like.

Now you are going to find on picture of every photography genre.

Landscape

Urban

Sport

Wildlife

Studio

Vegetation

As you have see above there are 9 different genres and an example picture.

Now I am going to show you some artists and their genre.

1. Ansel Adams - He is famous for making pictures of beautiful landscapes.

2. Henri Cartier-Bresson - Henri mostly made photo's of people. He also was one of the early users of the 35MM film.

3. Annie Leibovitz - Annie is more of a portrait photographer just like Henri Cartier.

4. Dorothea Lange - Dorothea was a American documentary photographer. She made pictures in the Depression-era.

5. Richard Avedon - Richard was also American and he was an fashion photographer. He was also an portrait photographer.

6. Steve McCurry - Steve had a different genre then everybody in this list so-far. He was an freelancer and photojournalist.

7. Robert Capa - Robert was a war photographer from Hungary, he was partner of Gerda Taro.

8. Robert Frank - This Robert was more of a film-maker then a photographer.

9. Edward Weston -  Edward was one of the more influencing photographers in America.

10. Helmut Newton - Helmut was from Germany. He was a famous fashion photographer.

The 10 photographers above I like because of their pictures. They all do the same but they all do it different and that is what makes it cool.

Especially Robert Capa. The fact the he was willing to go to unsafe places and make picture's of that. He died because he stepped on a landmine. That is how unsafe the place is he went to.

To make a nice picture you also need good lighting and the colours must match in some way. If you make pictures of people in a studio lights are not difficult to use, but when you are outside the lighting of the picture is more difficult to change the light. You can always bring a blanket to block light but adding light is not so easy. Especially when it is day. When it is dark outside you can use light but that's only when its dark outside.

When you make pictures of nature in forests or somewhere else outside the light is also different. It also depends on your angle and where you are taking the picture. For instance when you are in an open area you have enough light but when you are in a forest or in a place where there is not much light it can be difficult to change the light.

Something else you need to look at is contrast. Does the colour of the wall you are standing next to match or compliment with the colours you are wearing. If you wear something black and you stand in front of a grey wall the colours match but if you wear yellow and your standing in front of a green wall the colours won't come out the way you want.

That is why fashion photographers use green/blue screens so that they can change the colour of the background or they use a black or white blanket because that matches with almost every colour.

For this project we also had to take our own pictures about the genre we like. The pictures you will find bellow are pictures I made myself.

On several pictures you can also see me but on most pictures you can't see anyone. That is because I like to take pictures of things outside and of groups of people and not one person in particular.

Reflection

This project was very fun to do and I learned a lot about colours and how important light is in a picture. Looking through my pictures was also very fun. Bringing up memory's form a long time ago.
